Why we do this

dezkev florida
We are Kevin and Desaree’. We are young fulltime
rvers. We chose to get rid of the “normal” life to live a more minimal life
while pursuing our own endeavours. Our house is a 34 foot 1992 fleetwood
bounder. It has everything a regular house has just in a smaller space.
Oh yea, and you can drive your house. So our home is where we park it. This
has led us to a very interesting life. We Started in August of 2006. We
had no idea what we were doing and really we still don’t we are learning
every mile of everyday. We Love it!
We are
happy to have you visit our site and hope you bookmark us so you can visit
us often and see what we’ve been up to.

So your wondering,

Why would
these people want to live in a small rv?
How
do they eat?
How do they fund this venture?
Do they have a bathroom?
Hot water? A kitchen?

If you look on the right hand side you will see a list of pages. Click on any
topic there and you will find the answers to most all of your questions..

Please if You have any questions that I didnt
list Just Ask, Email Us!!;-)

you two are very brave!! It took me 5 yrs of dragging my feet before I gave in to hubby! We really enjoy the lifestyle and are in our mid-60’s. But since you 2 are so young, what about health ins, retirement savings, etc, etc. I’m sure that’s why that one lady got upset with you, she was just concerned about your future.

Wow is all we can say! We are proud of you both and jealous to lol. We sent you a private email but we are the ones that are caring for mom with alzheimers and lost our life savings doing so and now have to save all over to get a cheap motorhome at 52 and 50 so we can catch up to you both. I was joyous to see such a cute couple truly seeming to enjoy the life we want to do and making it work no matter what you had to do it is great isnt it? Well keep the site going put more photos to share and we will keep reading your adventures and someday with the lords grace we will be doing the same and who knows maybe we will cross paths in this beautiful country of ours that so many never get to see but a pinch of it.
    Happy travels you both.

We went from a house of 3500 sq. ft. to a 40 foot Allegro Bus with 4 slides……Lovin it! Oh did I mention we are in our late 40’s and early 50’s. Sometimes you just gotta grab the bull by the horns and go for it. I think you two will have a wonderful life exploring this great land. And if some people don’t like it or get if that is their problem. Have fun exploring!

I really enjoy reading your blog and website. Nice job on both! You can check me out on my blog too. Sorry to hear about your puppy. My condolences! I know it’s hard to lose your best friend. I lost my Dalmation “Alta” back in March ‘06. We were constant companions for 14 years. Hang in there and best wishes as you live your dream!

Hey guys! Wow! I didn’t even know you had a blog! This is awesome! How did you do this? We keep talking about getting a website but are clueless! So you guys travel in a 1992 Bounder? Is it gas or diesel? We just traded our 5th wheel in on a 99 Itasca Suncruiser . . . a totally new experience for us! I’m loving reading the blog. Deepest sympathies about losing your dog. I went through that in 2005 with my doberman. And I know all about prejudices towards certain dogs . . . I deal with it daily with my sweet doberman. The new puppy is ADOREABLE!! I rescued a little chihuahua from a puppy mill in October and she’s turned into the love of my life!! Well – must go – keep writing! And safe travels!

You folks are great! Been watching workampers site and you are always there. We are in our early sixties, own our home, good thing, bad thing. I had a business in Reno for years and sold it, have a nice 5th wheel et.al. We will take our first gig in Tahoe National forest this year, close to home. Trying to convince my mate of forty two years to just cash out, cut loose, and enjoy our remaining years.
About retirement, you will meet the best of America as you travel, and then the best of opportunities will come to you. Never fail to reach out, as I know you don’t, don’t be lazy, as I know you are not, and all will come to you.
Dogs are the best! God just keeps making them, and we keep loving them.
About guns. In Nevada you can carry a loaded firearm, unconcealed, in your vehicle. forty states have reciprocity for Concealed carry permits, get one in Nevada in the North, Washoe County, Lyon County, Storey County. Establish residency. Get in touch with me. My brother is CHP retired, My son is North Las Vegas SWAT. Do not carry in No. Las Vegas. All guns are taboo. Keep going.
All the best to you, hope to meet you someday, Ray
