O Give Me a Home, Where the Buffalo Roam! Job Info…

March 30, 2008 · 1 Comment

There is a secret place here in the USA! It’s a beautiful, breath taking area! The night sky is amazing. It feels like you can reach out and touch the starts. Kevin and I spent the summer of 07 working there! Where is this gold nugget you ask?  Drum roll………….

Zion Mountain Resort in Mt. Carmel, Utah.
This is the Check In, Buffalo Grill and small gift shop.

This post is priceless! This information could be gold to someone looking for summer of 2008 fun! The type of job that is next to impossible to find! I want to share it with you. I will tell you and show you a little bit about it. I ask that you email me for the managers contact information. They did not ask me to post this I am posting because this is an experience I think anyone would love. This is a job for both young and old.

Behind the building above is a herd of more than 75 Buffalo. The
log cabins in the background are for resort guests.

YOU DONT NEED AN RV TO TAKE A JOB HERE…. They have an employee only rv park. It’s free. There is no charge for a FHU site, propane and laundry all free. They pay for every hour worked. The starting wage is $8.00 and Up! But, if you don’t have an rv they have employee housing. You can stay in a beautiful cabin or they have condos in Kanab, a short drive from the resort which they provide transportation to and from everyday.

The bosses and managers are all professional and nice. They work with you when scheduling. They go out of there way to make you feel at home. It’s a good company to work for. You can eat in the “Buffalo Grill” There is a generous employee discounted menu. I know I’m sounding like a commercial here but we had nothing but a good time there.

The resort is 2 miles outside of Zion National Park. On our days off, Kev and I would go hiking or horse back riding. Springdale is the town on the other side of the park. It’s cute. You can shop or eat out. There is always something to do in the area. Kanab is where they made many old western movies. John Wayne has stayed at the Perry Lodge there.

They have a wide range of positions they hire for. They have a large c’store gift shop as well as a smaller gift shop at the front desk. There is outside work for the husbands. We always were able to have the same days off. We mostly worked 40 hours a week but they do hire part time employees as well.

If you’d like the contact information to inquire about employment here just

drop us a line

and I’ll send it right to you.

Izzy, The newest member of the vagabond family!

March 24, 2008 · 1 Comment

I wanted to introduce you all to our newest member of the gypsyvagabonds.com team!

Meet Izzy B or Izzy Mc. Fiz Fiz! She is one of 12 puppies. We bought her from a guy that had a bunch of dogs in not so nice conditions. She is the runt of the litter and was less than half the size of the other puppies!

Izzy B 01

She was super shy and quiet when we brought her home. She’s been with us for 4 weeks now. She’s a ham. She has so much energy and seems to be very smart. She’s grown and quadrupled in size already. I’m guessing she will max out between 55-75lbs.

She’s a pitbull. Before you go saying oh there terrible mean dogs make sure you educate yourself. I get real tired of hearing ppl say why would I want to own such a mean aggressive dog?? I’ll tell you why, for 20 years I’ve owned only pitbulls. Would you care to know how many people my dogs have bitten.. 0 ZERO!

I take extra caution for sure. These dogs can be dangerous if they aren’t raised right. They are extremely strong. If you channel those characters to positive things they are fine. Izzy has a friend or two in this rv park. Her best friend is a dotson named Max. When Iz came home she was smaller than Max and they played allot. Now she is bigger and stronger then Max and they still Play everyday. There were a few pitbull haters here at our rv park. They are no longer haters. Folks actually come by with doggie treats for Izzy! Anyone who ever knew Brutie felt the same way. I’ll stop rambling about my love of the breed now but I will continue to defend them forever! It truly is the owner not the dog!

Iz Sleeping

Here she is sleeping like a baby! She’s so funny, she always sleeps with her tounge hanging out!

Coming up next post: Whatching tv online! Using your computer to watch your favorite tv shows when there is no cable in sight!

I wanted to say sorry to all my loyal readers that have been emailing me lately for a new post! I have so much I want to share, pictures and life stuff but just haven’t been able to put it all together creatively. I am working on an update as we speak and should be done with it today or tomorrow at which time I’ll post it and email you all! If you don’t wish to get my update email please just reply to the note I send and I’ll take you off the list! If you aren’t on the list and would like to receive my update notes simply drop me a line at
MyRvLife @ gmail.com. You have to take the spaces out. I put those there because of spam-bots. They scan your post and take email addies out and you end up with a bunch of spam mail!

My home page has info and pix there as well. Check it out when you have a moment.

I have a favor to ask! I need some questions. If any of you have anything questions you want to ask please do so. I wanted to make an FAQ page and any questions would be a huge help.

Thanks all

Desaree and Kevin and our new puppy Izzy B
