Big Izzy and Mr. Big!

June 8, 2008 · 2 Comments

Wow it’s been a long time between posts. I have to tell you I will be spending most of my free time in doors from here on out. It’s brutal outside in the sun and heat. So the only outdoor activity at this point is swimming. I’m getting quite the tan I have to say.

I have so many different topics I want to update you all on. I want to show you the remodeling we did on the inside of Mr. Big (the rv), I have a bunch of new cards to share and of course who can forget Queen Izzy! She has been promoted from joker to queen.

I’ll start off a little with Izzy! Remember her the cute little black puppy. She is turned out to be a wonderful addition to our family. She is so funny, the things she does and her different expressions. I have some cute pictures to share!
Izzy getting ready to catch her Ball.Queen Izzy posing pretty for the camera.

The picture on the left is of her getting ready to attempt to catch a ball Kevin is throwing for her. The on on the right is me talking puppy talk to her so she makes her cute face. It worked, she’s so so cute. If you look on her chest she has a butterfly shape of white fur. It’s really pretty. She also has a little white spot under her chin that looks like milk dripping off. Can you tell I’ve become really attached to her. She’s really attached to us as well. So far she can give her paw, she can sit and stay and she is completely house broke. Sense we got her I think she’s has maybe 5 accidents inside and she tinkled, thank goodness we have tile floors. She hasn’t had one in about a month now so I am sure we are past that stage. Ok enough about the dog..LOL

We Moved the inside of the RV all around!
Our home is a 34 ft. Fleetwood Bounder Class A motor-home. We don’t have any slides so at times it seems a little cramped. Well I cam up with a great idea to fix the problem and I must say it’s wonderful inside now. Allow me to show you what I mean. If you go to the rv pics page of my website here  you can see how the rv looked before inside. It will load in another window so you don’t loose your place here. Then take a look at the pictures I’ve posted here you will see the huge difference in our living space.

This first picture is of us starting to move things around. We had already unbolted the
passenger chair as well as the extra swivel chair and side table.
(you can see what I mean in the pictures on the rv picture page of my site).
It looks a total mess because I had most of my card making supplies stowed under the couch.
Boy do I have allot of craft stuff. I down sized during this project.
Rv Redo moving things around
This next photo is when we were we are taking out the drivers seat and had
already moved the couch to the other side of the rv. My goodness, I almost didn’t show
any of these because of the clutter all over from the stuff under the couch..LOL

Finally this picture is of the finished project. I took a flower sheet and hung it
to block off the steering wheel and dash. I will be changing this to a pretty fabric from
Michael’s next time I go shopping. For now it’s fine and kinda “girlie cute”
Final Pic of Rv remodle project 1
We have so much more space now. I love it. We stored the seats in the inside
storage provided by the owners. Before we could be ready to go at any given
time with in 15-20 minutes. Now it will take us nearly 2 hours to prepare for take off.
If we were moving anytime soon we would not have done this. As it looks now we will be here till Oct
so this is great for now. Everything we moved can be put back to its original layout. I Love it. I hope you enjoy
looking at it.

I’m guessing I’ve rambled on enough now and this post is getting a bit long. I was going to show some of my new greeting cards but I’ll save it for my next post. Hope you all are having a safe and fun summer!!

This is a quicky post! Long one coming soon!! TV and Video

May 15, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I apologize for taking so long between posts. I do have so much I want to share but sometimes I have a hard time writing the story to go with the post. So I have a few started but none finished. I seem to have this problem of starting a project and not finishing it before I start another one. I do the same thing when making my greeting cards. I’ll start 2 or 3 without finishing any of them.

Here are two of the cards I made last night!
Get Well Soon Card for gramaPink and Green thank you card

I really enjoy making greeting cards. So you know I send cards to everyone that I have addresses for. So if you’d like to get a handmade greeting card anytime feel free to email me your addy and I’ll be sure to make one for you. It may take some time but it will get done. I was thinking of opening a small online store front to sell personalized handmade cards. I’ve got all the stuff to do it. I also know who to do web design and store front programs. Eventually I’ll get ‘r’ done. I don’t think or want to make millions but if I would make enough to cover my supplies I’d be happy. Ok, I’m sure you guys don’t want to hear about my scatter brain ideas. Soon enough I’ll be posting up the store front and asking opinions.

Now onto the video I wanted to share with yall. I found a really good you tube member. He posts some of the best National Geographic shows as well as Cnn programs I like. Sooo, If you enjoy these shows I will keep them coming. The show I am posting today is

NGC Secret Symbols of the Freemason

I look forward to you comments and requests. Please Keep them coming it’s fuel for me to keep posting. And as always Enjoy!!

Reader Favor!

April 18, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Hello. I’ve been working on video for my fellow rvers and blog readers to find things that you can watch online. I enjoy doing it but wanted to know if you enjoy seeing it. If there is no interest I will find a different direction to go.

So if you don’t mind please go here check it out and let me know if I should keep it going or not! Thanks so much!! It’s still under major construction but if there is no interest I’ll just take it down. I like making those little graphics and things that are on the page. It’s fun. The video series under the travel section is Around the World in 80 Days. THat’s a great show. He has 2 more shows like that I’ll be posting soon.

So we are still in Picacho AZ. It looks like we may stay a little longer than planned. Kevin’s boss is in real need of good workers so he keeps adding incentives for us to stay. We know for sure that we will being doing pumpkins and trees again this season so we may just stay here straight threw. I’m not looking forward to the hot AZ summers but we have 2 GREAT working air conditioners.

I did set us a new goal this week! We have a plan to spend the summer of 2009 in Alaska. I’m working on it. Looking for places to work and live. We try our best to NOT work in rv parks unless it’s all hours paid job. It’s not worth it to us to do it any other way. We have a friend that works on an oil rig up there and he’s got a lot of contacts so hopefully something will pan out there.
SO far we’ve got 4 other couples on with us for trees and pumpkins! I cant wait to meet these folks in real life. They all seem so interesting in our email conversations.

Keeping in the spirit of video which I’ve been working on these past few weeks I thought I’d share my favorite RV video.

Well I look forward to hearing from you!!
Dont forget to go
here  and let me know thumbs up or down!!

Thanks for reading!

Coming up next post! Izzy updated photos.. She is so big. Such a good dog too.

O Give Me a Home, Where the Buffalo Roam! Job Info…

March 30, 2008 · 1 Comment

There is a secret place here in the USA! It’s a beautiful, breath taking area! The night sky is amazing. It feels like you can reach out and touch the starts. Kevin and I spent the summer of 07 working there! Where is this gold nugget you ask?  Drum roll………….

Zion Mountain Resort in Mt. Carmel, Utah.
This is the Check In, Buffalo Grill and small gift shop.
This is the Grill, front desk and small gift shop.

This post is priceless! This information could be gold to someone looking for summer of 2008 fun! The type of job that is next to impossible to find! I want to share it with you. I will tell you and show you a little bit about it. I ask that you email me for the managers contact information. They did not ask me to post this I am posting because this is an experience I think anyone would love. This is a job for both young and old.

ZMR view Front with Cabins
Behind the building above is a herd of more than 75 Buffalo. The
log cabins in the background are for resort guests.

YOU DONT NEED AN RV TO TAKE A JOB HERE…. They have an employee only rv park. It’s free. There is no charge for a FHU site, propane and laundry all free. They pay for every hour worked. The starting wage is $8.00 and Up! But, if you don’t have an rv they have employee housing. You can stay in a beautiful cabin or they have condos in Kanab, a short drive from the resort which they provide transportation to and from everyday.

The bosses and managers are all professional and nice. They work with you when scheduling. They go out of there way to make you feel at home. It’s a good company to work for. You can eat in the “Buffalo Grill” There is a generous employee discounted menu. I know I’m sounding like a commercial here but we had nothing but a good time there.

The resort is 2 miles outside of Zion National Park. On our days off, Kev and I would go hiking or horse back riding. Springdale is the town on the other side of the park. It’s cute. You can shop or eat out. There is always something to do in the area. Kanab is where they made many old western movies. John Wayne has stayed at the Perry Lodge there.

They have a wide range of positions they hire for. They have a large c’store gift shop as well as a smaller gift shop at the front desk. There is outside work for the husbands. We always were able to have the same days off. We mostly worked 40 hours a week but they do hire part time employees as well.

If you’d like the contact information to inquire about employment here just

drop us a line

and I’ll send it right to you.

Izzy, The newest member of the vagabond family!

March 24, 2008 · 1 Comment

I wanted to introduce you all to our newest member of the gypsyvagabonds.com team!

Meet Izzy B or Izzy Mc. Fiz Fiz! She is one of 12 puppies. We bought her from a guy that had a bunch of dogs in not so nice conditions. She is the runt of the litter and was less than half the size of the other puppies!

Izzy B 01

She was super shy and quiet when we brought her home. She’s been with us for 4 weeks now. She’s a ham. She has so much energy and seems to be very smart. She’s grown and quadrupled in size already. I’m guessing she will max out between 55-75lbs.

She’s a pitbull. Before you go saying oh there terrible mean dogs make sure you educate yourself. I get real tired of hearing ppl say why would I want to own such a mean aggressive dog?? I’ll tell you why, for 20 years I’ve owned only pitbulls. Would you care to know how many people my dogs have bitten.. 0 ZERO!

I take extra caution for sure. These dogs can be dangerous if they aren’t raised right. They are extremely strong. If you channel those characters to positive things they are fine. Izzy has a friend or two in this rv park. Her best friend is a dotson named Max. When Iz came home she was smaller than Max and they played allot. Now she is bigger and stronger then Max and they still Play everyday. There were a few pitbull haters here at our rv park. They are no longer haters. Folks actually come by with doggie treats for Izzy! Anyone who ever knew Brutie felt the same way. I’ll stop rambling about my love of the breed now but I will continue to defend them forever! It truly is the owner not the dog!

Iz Sleeping

Here she is sleeping like a baby! She’s so funny, she always sleeps with her tounge hanging out!

Coming up next post: Whatching tv online! Using your computer to watch your favorite tv shows when there is no cable in sight!

Feel free to see our home page!

March 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I wanted to say sorry to all my loyal readers that have been emailing me lately for a new post! I have so much I want to share, pictures and life stuff but just haven’t been able to put it all together creatively. I am working on an update as we speak and should be done with it today or tomorrow at which time I’ll post it and email you all! If you don’t wish to get my update email please just reply to the note I send and I’ll take you off the list! If you aren’t on the list and would like to receive my update notes simply drop me a line at
MyRvLife @ gmail.com. You have to take the spaces out. I put those there because of spam-bots. They scan your post and take email addies out and you end up with a bunch of spam mail!

My home page has info and pix there as well. Check it out when you have a moment.

I have a favor to ask! I need some questions. If any of you have anything questions you want to ask please do so. I wanted to make an FAQ page and any questions would be a huge help.

It’s a New Year! Hip Hip hooray for 2008

January 16, 2008 · 1 Comment

Hi all, I’m sorry again that it’s been so long sense my last post. We finished the Christmas Tree lot and might I say it was HARD work but well worth it. We met some great people. We had plans to return to the east side of the USA this spring but changed our mind because we want to come next year to work for Mr. Cooper and his Trees..

Kevin and Alex goofing off at the lot
Kevin and Alex goofing off at the lot

If any of my readers are interested in this job for next year Please email us and I will get you all the information you need. I’m going to post some pictures of the lot. I have scatter brain today and I want to share so much so bare with me as I’ll probably be all over the place in my post!

This is CBS news.
During the 40-45 days we where there this news station came 3 or 4 times to do a story. Kevin was like the local mini star all the ladies that saw him on the news came to the lot full of cutie remarks. I am flattered cause lets face it he is a hotty.

I also wanted to let you guys know that I’m working on my website to add some very useful rv links. I’m also working on a R.I.P design for the Great Brutus the Beefcake!

So this evening I’m going to apply to work the midnight shift at the Flying J truckstop.. I’m sure I’ll get hired and I think it will be fun to do. It’s only until April and then we scatter out of Az the weather is just to dang hot to stay longer. One thing I’d love to do: Find a job on the internet. Even part time doing something it would be a great way to supplement our income. I’ve been doing some research but this far everything looks like a scam. Oh well you win some you loose some.
Live news coverage at the lot
You can click on the smaller picture and it will open a fullsize image.
I keep them small for fast loading.

I wanted to thank you guys again for leaving comments and also thank all of you whom have emailed me. It make this blog worth the while to know that there are so many folks out there pulling for us! So keep them coming. I could use a topic as well. A topic for one of my posts in January! That would be fun.

Here is an interesting link for my fellow rvers.
Most  Un-friendly rv locations.
It’s posted on another rv journal site. It’s not mine but nonetheless it’s a good read.

Thanks for reading, I’ll post more this week!
